Each month, we will be focusing on a new topic to help survivors of all kinds share their story, connect with others who have shared experience, and heal.

DECEMBER 2016
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
Topics may include, but are not limited to: PTSD due to military service, sexual assault, violent crime, etc.

JANUARY 2017
Positive Body Image Month
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Eating disorders, body dysmorphia, over-exercising, media representation, and medical discrimination.

FEBRUARY 2017
Black History Month & POC Racial Identity
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Racial identity and its affects on all aspects of life, expectations, discrimination, violence, & media representation. 

MARCH 2017
Chronic Illness Awareness Month
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Cystic Fibrosis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), diabetes, lupus, Crohn's Disease, cerebral palsy, endometriosis, Alzheimer's, arthritis, fibromyalgia, epilepsy, thyroid disease, sleep apnea, and sickle call anemia. 

APRIL 2017
Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Sexual violence and harassment, rape, coercion, molestation, incest, peeping, and fondling.

MAY 2017
Mental Health Awareness Month
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, and borderline personality disorder.

JUNE 2017
Queer Pride Month
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Coming out, workplace or housing discrimination, violence, harassment, expectations of presentation, and LGBTQ+ youth homelessness.

JULY 2017
Violent Crime & Loss
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Experiencing or losing a loved one to homicide, aggravated assault, police brutality, terrorism.

AUGUST 2017
Alcohol, Drugs & Loss
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Alcoholism, drug use, affects on family life, and experiencing  or loss of a loved one to drunk driving accidents or overdose.

SEPTEMBER 2017
Suicide Awareness & Prevention Month
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Suicide attempts, self-harm, stigma, and loss of a loved one to suicide.

OCTOBER 2017
Domestic Violence & Bullying Awareness Month
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Intimate partner violence, violence within the home, intimidation, harassment, threats, stalking, and online harassment or cyber-bullying.

NOVEMBER 2017
Transgender Awareness & Celebration Month
Topics may include, but are not limited to: Gender dysphoria, coming out, violence, harassment, and discrimination.

 

All stories submitted can be about your personal experience with the topic, or how having or losing a loved one with that experience has shaped your life in some way.
